Ms. Morgan has played a critical role in the college application process for me. She is very knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to college admissions. She tells you what colleges (from state to elite) are actually looking for—insight you can’t just find in a school’s brochure or on its website.
She helped me discover which schools would be the best fit for me. From searching, to applying, to deciding where I would spend the next four years, Ms. Morgan was there to offer quality advice. I decided I wanted to study economics, and with her guidance, I was accepted to one of my dream schools with one of the best economics programs in the country: Duke University!

I used Lisa Solovay as my college advisor this past year. We instantly became BFFS, and I felt not an ounce of stress with my application process. She really made me dig deep for my common app essay, which I ended up loving. She took the time to get to know me to make sure my application was as accurate and reflective of me. I applied to 6 schools, 3 in state and 3 out of state. I ended up gaining admission to all 6, including scholarships from 3. I started with Lisa in August, before my junior year. I had my essays and applications complete upon the days they opened, thanks to Lisa. She took all my stress away as we would crank out college stuff and I would leave with no stress. She knows the process inside and out. I would recommend her service to anyone looking into the college application process. I credit my stress-free process to Lisa, and thank her dearly for helping me perfect my application.

We were late to the college game. We assumed that the college counselor at our daughter’s high school would advise her. We learned very quickly that it is very competitive and very complicated. We spoke with a number of counselors, but when I spoke with Julia, she shared information freely, and she clearly loves what she does. Julia chatted with our daughter multiple times a week. She held her accountable, and she pushed her boundaries. Our daughter ended up getting into her “Reach School” early decision, and we couldn’t be happier. While Julia could have given us a handshake and moved on at that moment, she didn’t! She continued to check in with our daughter and encouraged her to get a resume ready for summer. Julia is very detailed and incredibly dedicated to her students. This is not a “job” for her, it’s clearly a passion.

I never knew how much help I needed with planning out my future until I met Lisa Solovay. She reached out to me, a stressed-out senior that, when it came to the college admissions process, was as lost as could be. I quickly realized how amazing Mrs. Solovay and the Ascent College Advising program was as I found myself not just understanding how to increase my chances at gaining scholarships and improving my resume, but also how to traverse the intimidating application process every senior eventually endures. Besides being extremely helpful, Mrs. Solovay made sure to comfort me and encourage my dedication and persistence during every single meeting; she always kept my best and personal interests in mind. In fact, she regularly checked in outside of school/meeting hours and was always ready to talk on the phone when necessary (at one point for multiple hours during the last stretch of the application process). With her help, I was admitted into one of my dream schools (University of Pennsylvania) with a full ride. Julia Morgan is absolutely amazing. I reached out to Julia, who was recommended to me by a friend, to help me with the college application process once I realized that it was more to handle than I had previously thought. Having Julia by my side throughout the process relieved an immense amount of stress from the process, and kept me accountable for approaching deadlines. Other than this, Julia has such a kind and understanding personality, as to where I felt comfortable enough to talk to her about anything and everything, including my most vulnerable stories, in order to get the most authentic representation of myself on my applications.
